WINFIELD’S DARING DEBUTS
The Winfield story begins with the audacious Bill Knight, a British businessman with a passion for speed records and the thrills of the Jersey’s circuits. His dream of making motorsport accessible to a wider audience gave birth to an authenticinstitution that would go on to achieve unparalleled success.
Since 1964, Winfield has become a recognized brand that has inspired many generations; a school that has launched so many careers and revealed some of the world’s greatest automobile champions: four World Champions, including two in Formula One (Alain Prost and Damon Hill), ten Grand Prix winners, multiple successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, numerous wins in the World Rally Championship, etc. The students have been shining in all disciplines for 60 years now.
A SCHOOL IN CONSTANT EVOLUTION
Reinvented in 2016, it has remained true to the spirit of last century’s pioneers while embracing the 21st century. In recent years, the school has introduced some of today’s leading single-seater hopefuls to driving, such as Théo Pourchaire (2023FIA F2 champion / 2024 F1 reserve driver), Isack Hadjar (Red Bull Junior driver / 2024 F2 championship contender), and Doriane Pin (Mercedes Junior driver) who is competing in F1 Academy this season.
A UNIQUE RACING SCHOOL
Also at the helm of the F1 DRIVING EXPERIENCE program in partnership with the BWT Alpine F1 Team, Winfield’s aim today is to make driving a modern Formula One car accessible by offering complete immersion at the heart of a real racing team. This is the only place on Earth where you can become a Formula 1 driver for a day!
SHARING A PASSION FOR MOTORSPORT IN ALL ITS FORMS
Alongside these training activities, Winfield Racing School is also involved in the seventh art, advertising films, and the discovery of driving by some well-known names in cinema and music. It also offers fully immersive activities such as tandem Formula racing baptisms, or corporate seminars at the heart of top-level competition issues.
FIND WINFIELD AROUND THE WOLRD
To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Winfield Racing School is taking on a new challenge this year. The school will be expanding beyond France’s borders, setting out to conquer the world. Last February, it set up shop at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), where it will initiate the training of tomorrow’s drivers and mechanics for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific zones, while offering activation tools for companies and individuals. Borrowing from the past to build the future, the school’s motto “Train, detect and promote” has never been more alive.
